2011 Hoegger Supply Catalog

Our 2011 Hoegger Supply catalog arrived. This is one of my very favorite catalogs. They have really improved on the quality of this years catalog. The pictures are professional and really show the items off in their best light. Jasmine, our 7 year old granddaughter helped bring in the mail and fell in love with the kid on the front. "Awwwww...I want one of those" was her comment. Inside I said the same thing. "Please Lord let at least one of our goats be pregnant."
We just aren't sure yet. We definitely want goat milk this spring. I didn't have time to look through the catalog with the holidays. So after working outside this morning I sat down with a cup of hot tea and took my time to peruse through it's pages. So many things that I would like to have. I do compare prices via the web and shop frugally. One feature of this years catalog really caught my eye. Free shipping! That is a sale in itself. I did limit myself to only "necessary" items. Necessary item #1 Golden Blend Goat Minerals. These are free choice and a vitamin/mineral mix. If I buy 100lbs it comes with a free mineral feeder and that free shipping thing. WooHoo! Our goats will consume a mineral block in about 3 days. The thing is completely gone. Nothing left. We have to provide free choice minerals and kelp for our sheep. They require less copper and can not be fed goat minerals. Hence the need for a separate mineral dispenser for the goats. Necessary item #2 needles. Spring vaccination will be here before we know it. I have syringes but need needles. I use 20g 1" for CD&T shots. I don't understand why, but the syringe and needle combination is the same price as the needles alone. I usually buy a box of 100 needles. That didn't make sense but it seemed like a good buy to me. I made myself stop there. No goat mugs, goat magnets or goat stationary. Oh I could go on and on. There are so many goat items in there. Even now my new catalog is dog eared. I have to control myself. May everyone have a blessed and happy evening. I sit here with my cup of tea, animals fed, chickens closed up for the night and pups asleep at my feet in front of the fire. Mmmmm. Maine, the way life should be. And is.
Much Love and Prayers from Mainely Ewes Farm
