What was that wind, where is my shelter?

For a little background, when we bought Fuzzy the llama we also bought this shelter from her owner. It looked strong enough when we were putting it together. It looked big enough. For heavens sake, a truck would fit! The sheep shelter was just too short for Fuzzy. The tarp was secured with metal poles that were connected to auger type tie downs. Surely this would hold up to wind. Surely........

I apologize for this far away picture but it give you the idea of what it looked like before. Before that big bad cloud came hurtling over our little spot of paradise with goats, sheep, and llama inside of that cozy shelter.
In all honesty we did have some pretty big gusts of wind. The trees started bending in the wind. Then, I looked out the back door and all I could say was "it's gone, it's gone". This is all that was left of the shelter. The animals were okay. Thank God! But the shelter suffered miserably. It kinda reminded me of the Wizard of Oz. I'm glad there were no bad witches around.

Please don't tell the goats and Fuzzy that the shelter is gone. I think they still think it is still there, just more sunny.
We are going to replace the metal poles that were bent. Later we will build a secure, stable pole barn for these guys. For right now they have to work with cheap. Excuse Edward for having his elbows on the table. Oh, and his head in his plate. Much love and prayers from Mainely Ewes Farm.

Bless your heart. I think constructing strong shelters and good fences has been the hardest thing to tackle in farm living. The west Texas winds here blow hard and long, as well as the thick dirt. Hopefully, you will have your shelter back up soon! blessings,Kathleen
